Featured Finish: Beautiful Basement Within Budget

For starters, we take copious notes at our initial client meeting so that we can match the existing finishes in your home. A finished basement should be a natural extension of the home above it—not a tacked-on after-thought. For example, we take care to see that baseboard and casement trim, doors and door hardware all match that which is already installed in the home. We build those finishes into our base bid so they won’t come as a surprise once we’re already into the project.

With a little more than 700 finished square feet, this inviting space includes a bedroom, bathroom, rec room with wet bar and homeowner-supplied sauna, and a large, unfinished storage room. The sauna was a pre-fabricated unit around which we framed, drywalled, and supplied required electrical hook-up.

You may be surprised to find out that the bathroom in this basement represents all of our standard finishes—from the floor-to-ceiling subway tile in the shower and its Corian bench seat to the custom Colorado-made Tharp cabinetry vanity with its solid-surface quartz counter top.

Quality Delta plumbing fixtures—shown here in Brilliance Stainless but also available in chrome, matte black, or oil-rubbed bronze—match the finish of the shower door, bath hardware, and 3-light bath vanity fixture.

The same upscale cabinetry and plumbing fixtures can be found at the wet bar, which—though priced as an option—is shown here with base finishes such as two rows of tile in front of the bar, quartz or granite counter tops, and the aforementioned cabinets and plumbing fixtures.
